My little girls have arrived!

They are Speckled Sussex pullets (females).  Their names are (from most bold to least bold) : 

1.  Gert(rude)  (she may be a "he"; if so, named George)

2. Lucy

3. Alice

4. Betty

5. Rose

They should start laying in September. Stay tuned for ordering!

UPDATE January 2011:   OK, so I was hoping for eggs in September....... BUT I did get my first egg on January 4 2011 !  I don't know "who" laid it, but when I was cleaning their coop, I was moving them around with my hand and one of them squatted as soon as I touched her.  Hmmm......   Good sign?
